Scientific publication: Wiltse approach using full single-port endoscopy

Our team has just published a new scientific article on the Wiltse technique using full single-port endoscopy, illustrated by a clinical case involving the right L4-L5 segment.

Dr. AFATHI has adapted this well-known approach from open surgery to the single-port endoscopic technique, and we share its principles in this publication.

This minimally invasive approach, performed via a paraspinal route, allows for the decompression of the lumbar nerve roots in cases of foraminal stenosis, foraminal herniation, or extraforaminal herniation, while preserving muscle integrity—with the associated benefits in terms of postoperative recovery.
